Things you will need

• Heyco CPV Solar Crimping Tool
• Heyco CPV Solar or CPV Solar Bulkhead Connector
• Heyco CPV Solar Disconnection Tool

Step 1

Choose the correct Heyco CPV Solar or CPV Solar Bulkhead Connector and tooling for your application.

Step 2

Cut wire to length and strip end for termination, .300" strip length.

Step 3

Place the male pin or female barrel into the nest on the CPV crimper with the crimp facing up.
Complete the crimping operation. Recommended crimp height:
Male Pin: .105" ±.005" for 12 AWG, .116" ±.005" for 10 AWG
Female Barrel: .085" ±.005" for 12 AWG, .095" ±.005" for 10 AWG

Step 4

Crimper needs to be adjusted based on wire sizes for correct crimp height. To adjust,
remove screw and spin adjustment cam until the alignment mark is aligned with the
correct wire size. The correct adjustment is shown for 10 AWG wire. (If tooling adjustment
is properly set the crimp height will be correctly set for both parts on the selected wire size.)

Step 5

Assemble completed crimped connection into CPV housing. Male pins are assembled into
the CPV-P or CPV-P-BH and female barrels are assembled into CPV-N or CPV-N-BH. Parts
will lock into place when fully assembled.

A. Complete Crimp Male Pin Recommended Crimp Height

• .105" ±.005" for 12 AWG Wire
• .116" ±.005" for 10 AWG Wire

B. Complete Crimp Female Barrel Recommended Crimp Height

• .085" ±.005" for 12 AWG Wire
• .095" ±.005" for 10 AWG Wire

Step 6

Complete assembly for the CPV connector by tightening the sealing nut (35 in-lbs) to make
the liquid tight seal to the wire. This step completes the termination and assembly.

Step 7 (inter-connection)

To inter-connect insert the CPV-P or CPV-P-BH into the CPV-N or CPV-N-BH until the locks click showing full insertion.

Step 8 (separation)

The Heyco CPV disconnect tool is required to break the connection. Insert the tool into the lock slots
(2) and squeeze to release the locks. Then separate the connectors.
